John Pantsil Secures Work Permit In Accra

Ghana defender John Pantsil has secured his work permit in Accra which will enable him play for Leicester City, MTNFootball.com understands.

Pantsil finalized the process at the Bristish High Commission in Accra on Wednesday evening. This makes the right-back available for selection ahead of the start of the Npower Championship next week. The 30-year-old was expected to make his debut last Saturday against Spanish giants Real Madrid at the King Power Stadium.

But he travelled to Ghana to sort out the paperwork to ensure that he is available for the start of the season. The former Fulham player signed a three-year deal with Sven Goran-Eriksson’s side last month and has already talked up their promotion chances.

“I saw the quality of the players who were coming in and knew they could take the club forward,” he said. “We all believe in ourselves and respect ourselves, which is important. I think, if we can play as a team, there is no team that can walk over us.

“It is a good decision to come here. I am working with a very good coach who can improve me and polish my game, to turn me into the player I want to be. “This club is a big club and they have all the facilities to take them to the Premier League. That is what we are looking for. Now we have to work together to achieve that.

“We are all positive about our chances, as long as we all stand together. We believe we can go up this season but we need to listen to the manager and play as a team.

“We have quality players who can take us to the Premier League if we stick together. “For me, and the manager and my colleagues, we are ready to take that step.”
