John Paintsil successfully hosts 3rd edition of Talent Identification Program in the Savannah Region

Ghana Black Stars Assistant Coach John Paintsil has successfully completed the third edition of his Talent Identification Program in Jama, Savanna Region.

The event, held in collaboration with the Bui Power Authority (BPA), aims to discover and nurture young football talent across the region.

The program, which concluded on Sunday, drew the participation of several former Black Stars players, including Malam Yahaya, Isaac Vorsah, Razak Ibrahim, Dan Quaye, Kofi Amponsah, Patrick Villas and John Paintsil himself.

These ex-players featured in an exhibition match against a team of young talents selected during the identification process.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of rising star Elisha Baah, who was named Discovery of the Tournament for his outstanding performances throughout the program.

The initiative culminated in a grand finale, attended by prominent figures such as the King of Bui, Nana Kwadwo Wuo II, the Jama King Naa Professor Langangor Karly II as well as the CEO of Bui Power Authority Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi, showing the local community’s strong support for youth development through sports.

Top talents identified during the program will be drafted into the John Paintsil Academy based in Accra, where they will receive further training and development.

The event’s success marks yet another positive step in Paintsil’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.

Other important personalities who graced the occasion were Mr. Opoku Acheampong Eric, Director of Natural and Hman Resources at BPA, Mr. Nimako Boateng Samuel – Director of BPA Power Operating Department and Mr. Kuunifa B. Chriseantus – BPA Director of Occupational Health, Safety, Security and Environment.

Mr. Kwaku Akusa – BPA Director of Engineering and Services, BPA Deputy Director of Power Operating Department Mr. Ankrah Cyril and BPA Deputy Director of Engineering and Services Atto Kwamina were also part of the historic event.



The commitment and dedication of the CEO of BPA Mr. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi to ensuring the event has become an annual ritual and part of the people has been highly commendable. His leadership has been pivotal to the project, ensuring that young talents in the area are brought to the limelight.

Mr. Dzamasi has also defined a new life for former Black Queens goalkeeper Memunatu Sulemana by offering her a new role as the head of sports and fitness instructor at the BPA Fitness Gym.
