Ghanaian forward John Antwi has been suspended for the next three Egyptian topflight games after receiving a red card in the match between El Makassa and Zamalek.

Referee Mohamed Adel gave the Ghanaian his matching orders for punching Baha’a Magdi as the White Knights defeated Misr El Makkasa 1-0 in the third fixture of the Egyptian Premier League.

After reviewing the referee’s match report, the Egyptian Football Association competitions committee handed the 26-year-old striker a three-game suspension given that the player intentionally hit Magdi.

John Antwi will miss the games against his former club Ismailly, Al Masry and Wadi Degla.

The former Dreams FC player who scored the winner for El Makassa in the game against El Makwaloon will be a big miss for his side.

In similar news, the committee imposed a 20,000 Egyptian Pounds fine on both Ittihad of Alexandria and Ismaily SC following unacceptable behavior from some of the players of the two clubs.
