The national U-17 female team of Ghana eased past Gambia by qualifying to the next stage of the 2018 U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Ghana defeated Gambia 2-0 in the reverse fixture on Saturday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The first half ended goalless, but the Black Maidens went all gun blazing in the second half and they hit the back of the net twice through Suzzy Dede Teye and Murakama Abdulai.

Ghana thus qualified with a 7-1 aggregate after winning the first leg 5-1.

Ghana will now face Djibouti in the next stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for a place in the tournament to be staged in Uruguay
