Tony Aidoo Returns Car

Former Deputy Defence Minister, Dr J. Tony Aidoo has returned to government the vehicle he purchased from government as part of his end of service benefits.

A letter from Dr Tony Aidoo to the Chief of Staff Jake Obetsebi Lamptey informing him of the return of the car a Subaru Legacy with registration GR 8245 Q and requested the immediate refund of the seven million cedis he paid for the car.

Dr Aidoo stated that he did not purchase the vehicle as a personal option, but the joint transition team arranged a collective package he believes.

He accused the Chief of Staff of making equivocal and contradictory statements about the purchase of the cars, which have been in bad faith to the transitional arrangement and deliberately reinforced the anti-NDC media campaign to challenge the moral integrity of former NDC government appointees.

Dr Tony Aidoo said, he is returning to the Chief of Staff the controversial vehicle because of the value he places on his moral integrity, and also to prevent further tarnishing of his image by the office of the Chief of Staff and the anti-NDC media.
