Players all over the world have one way or the other declared their dream move whiles under contract at one end with another club.
It’s not different in the case of tough-tackling midfielder Afriyie Acquah – currently playing for Italian-based club Torino in the Serie A, has disclosed affirmatively that it is his all-time dream of playing in the English Premiership League.
The former Palermo player signed a four-year permanent deal with Torino after series of globetrotting with Parma and Sampdoria in the Italian league and has made over 40 appearances for The Maroons.
In a latest development, Acquah says a move to the most popular and arguably the best league in the world is in the offing.
Coupled with reports emanating from England, he’s been linked with a possible move to newly promoted side Newcastle United, where Christian Atsu currently ply’s his trade
“It’s true that a move to England is 90% complete. It`s my dream to move or play in England, so am only hoping the deal suffice so I can move there,” Acquah said after training with the Black Stars in Accra.
“It`s my dream to play in England and looking carefully at the way I play, I will blend well and won’t be encountering any difficulty. I am also hoping my football playing style will change as well.”
The stalwart midfielder made a total of 20 appearances in the just ended Serie A season for Torino and started 13 of them – scoring two goals.
Afriyie, 25, is currently part of the squad called by Kwesi Appiah ahead of AFCON Qualifier against Ethiopia and international friendly matches against Mexico and USA.
