Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies have named Hashim Yakubu as Captain of the side for the 2017/18 season.
The defender, who joined the club last season will be deputized by defensive partner Issahaku Zakaria with striker Nasiru Hamzah, named third Captain.
Hashim Yakubu had a stellar first season with the club in 2016/17, playing 20 times and scoring two goals.
The strong defender stated it was an honour to be named Captain and hopes to help Keinechi Yatuhashi's side achieve the target for the season.
“I am very honored and excited that the Club have appointed me as the captain, I’m looking forward to continuing to lead our program for the season,” he said.
“This team is blessed with many leaders and to lead these gallant leaders it’s like a dream for me. I hope I don’t change much from the way I am as a player but to improve more.”
The Tema based club began the season on a positive note thrashing Bechem United 3-0, with Nigerien import Victorien Adebayor netting a brace.
Inter Allies travel to Kumasi on Sunday to face record Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko in match day 2 of the Ghana Premier League.
