Inter Allies Africa participation under threat

Inter Allies CEO Delali Senaya has revealed that the Tema-based club will not be interested in participating in the Africa inter-club competitions next season if the team manages to qualify due to Ghana’s worsening economy.

Before joining Hearts of Oak last season coach Herbert Addo led Inter Allies to a second-place finish in the MTN FA Cup in 2013 and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup but pulled out due to financial constraints.

Senaya told Starr Sports Inter Allies will stay clear off the Africa inter-club competitions once the country’s economy fails to improve.

“Inter Allies will love to play in Africa but Ghana’s economy has become unfriendly to football, as and when it improves our football will be better,” Senaya told Starr Sports.

“Usually the league takes 10 months but last season it was almost 13 months, fuel was increased more than 10 times during the period.

“When you draw a budget and the head of delegation takes interest to travel they have to call for reinforcement to return to Accra because fuel has been increased.”
