Abdulai M. Gariba, GNA Special Correspondent, Pretoria, SA

Pretoria (S/A), June 30, GNA - Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom has said the high sense of unity in the camp of the Black Stars will see them through to the next stage of the competition.

The Defender, who had his first outing in the game against USA in an attacking position, said at a media briefing that, the current Black Stars Team "is a united one because we fight for each other both on the field and off the pitch.

"The morale in camp is very high, we live as one family; do everything together and this is what is keeping us ahead of others in the competition, he said.

"When we won the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt last year, it was because we were united in camp, played for each other in every game and this is what is happening in the camp of the Black Stars now," Inkoom explained. "We are focused, determined and ready to lift the trophy and we are taking our game against Uruguay very serious just like the other games we have played in the competition," he stated.

The Defender, who had his debut in the last game against USA, said he was looking forward to another place in the starting line up in order to prove his worth.

Inkoom noted that, he would always give of his best when offered the opportunity again, because he was ready to die for the nation. Commenting on his new role in the last game against USA, Inkoom said "as a player you must be ready to play any position the Coach assigns to you.

"I'm ready to take up any role given me and will do my best to help the Team to beat Uruguay when given the opportunity on Friday," he noted. 30 June 10
