Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu could miss Ghana’s 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi on Saturday through injury.
The 21-year-old did not train with the rest of the team in Tuesday’s session and was later taken to hospital.
It is unclear at this point what the problem is but the 2009 U-20 World Cup winner has just returned from a three-week layoff to heal a back injury.
Agyemang-Badu is thus being monitored closely by the Black Stars’ medical team who are working around the clock to ensure all 24-players in camp are fit for Saturday’s qualifier.
It will be a big blow for Ghana if the Udinese man is unable to play in the crucial tie as he has been one of the best players of the side in recent times.
His goal against Guinea at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea was adjudged one of the best goals of the tournament.
Agyemang-Badu has been a main feature in the Black Stars midfield especially in the absence of experienced Michael Essien.
