Inaki Williams has made his future intentions clear, insisting that he wants to end his playing career with Athletic Club and never represent another team.

The 32-year-old forward has spent his entire senior career with the Basque club after joining Athletic’s academy in 2012. He has since become one of the most important figures in the club’s modern history and currently has 515 official appearances, placing him fifth on Athletic’s all-time list.

Speaking to Radio Nacional de España, Williams was emphatic when asked whether he could see himself playing elsewhere.

“Impossible. I’m retiring here; I don’t want to wear any jersey other than Athletic’s. I am very proud to have been part of this, and when the club decides I am no longer a key part of the team, I will step aside,” he said.

Williams, who recently retired from international football with Ghana, is now focused entirely on his remaining years at Athletic. He also admitted that he already imagines returning to San Mamés after retirement, this time with his son.

“I’ll go to San Mamés with my son to watch new legends grow,” he added.

With his contract running until 2028, Williams still has time to add to his remarkable appearance tally and strengthen his status as a potential one-club man.
