Impilo Ghana FC were held to a goalless drawn game on Thursday by Accra Celtic FC as the two sides continue with their preparations for upcoming assignments.
Thursday?s game played at the Atomic Police Park was a keenly contested affair as was expected as both sides have been impressive in their performances lately.
It was a game of very few chances with the defence of both sides being on top of their game throughout the 90 minutes of action.
Accra Celtic were the dominant team in the first session as they tried to make the most of their home advantage but the resilience of the Impilo Ghana side was never to be broken despite the pressure they were under.
Impilo Ghana FC raised their game in the second half as they sought their second successive victory in friendly games, but never found the cutting urge to cause any havoc to the Accra Celtic side.
In the end, it was a very useful exercise for both teams as they prepare for respective assignments with both looking to impact positively in the annals of Ghana football.
Accra Celtic plays their penultimate game against Kutunse Great United on Sunday in a Zone Six Greater Accra 2nd division league fixture, as they seek to complete their campaign on a high.
After this game they will end their season with an away game against Golden Boys of Apenkwa in Accra before breaking and planning for the new season.
Impilo Ghana FC used this game to test their battle readiness ahead of the start of the Eastern Regional 2nd division league which is expected to start soon following the resolution of the impasse that had threatened to rock the regional FA.
They will continue with their preparations for the season with a couple more friendly games next week as the handlers of the team seeks a fair idea of their state of readiness for their campaign.
