The Head Coach of Ghana’s male Olympic team Ibrahim Tanko and his assistant Michael Osei could be inviting two foreign based players to aid the team in the Africa U-23 Cup of nations qualifier against Gabon next month.

According to Ghanacrusader.com’s sources, two foreign based players who are less than 23 years could earn call ups into the Black Stars and would as well feature for the Black Meteors in the Africa U-23 qualifier which comes a day after the Black Stars have faced the Harambee Stars in Kumasi.

There is a difficulty in getting clubs to release their players for the upcoming U-23 qualifier because it is not a FIFA competition, where teams are obliged to release their players for national team assignment. It is a key reason why the two foreign based players would be invited into the Black Stars.

The Black Meteors will play the first leg of the qualifier on the 23rd of March at the Kumasi Sports stadium.

Meanwhile 24 locally based players have been called up to begin preparations ahead of next month’s qualifier against Gabon.

Names of the two foreign based players will be disclosed in due course.
