ITC Delaying Agogo's Hibernian Switch

Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood has blamed International Transfer Certificate problems for the delays in signing striker Ghana striker Junior Agogo.

The 46-year-old has described the former Nottingham Forest striker as a terrific player.

He has already to agree to sign him on a two year deal but the Cypriot Football Association is delaying in clearing the striker to play for the Scottish Premier League side.

After seeing his side lose their opening game of the season against Celtic over the weekend, Calderwood says Junior would be a wonderful addition and blames delays in completing Agogo’s signing to international clearance.

He added: “We are still a distance away from signing Junior because of clearance – that is the major stumbling block.

“But we are working away at that. From what I know of Junior and what I know about what he would bring to the club, I think he would be a terrific acquisition.”

Agogo, who turns 32 next month, bagged six goals in 24 appearances for Cypriot side Apollon Limassol last season.
