IPMC Hockey League – Week 5 Results

Multistix Beat NDK Financiers

Multistix beat NDK Financiers by two goals to one on Saturday 21st June 2008 and in so doing broke a number of painful defeats suffered from the hands of their rivals. This was an important victory for side that had waited quite a while to chalk a defeat over their rivals in recent times. A minute silence was observed before the match for the late Michael Arthur of Multistix and Marine Sticks who passed away during the week after a protracted illness. The match took a predictable pattern in the first half with Financiers defending resolutely to their one goal lead. Multistix, who overplayed the passes and underplayed the urgency, however got the equalizer before the end of the first half. In the second half, Multistix took the lead after a scramble in Financiers goal area saw John Bress finishing off a rebound from Financiers goalie.

In the men’s A-League CEPS maintained their dominance by clinching a well deserved 3-1 win over Police. The victory over Police ensures that CEPS extended their lead at the top of the table after getting off their league campaign on a good start.
