I would love the job but it’s up to the GFA – Damba

Former national goalkeeper Abubakari Damba says he would jump at the chance of becoming Ghana’s new goalkeeper’s trainer, but adds that the decision would lie with the Ghana Football Association.

Damba, speaking during GTV’s Sunday Night Live program, noted that such an opportunity would be an honour, stating that no matter how much he wants the role, the GFA would have to take the final decision.

“I would love to become Ghana’s new goalkeeper’s trainer. It would be a huge honour for me, but the onus lies on the GFA to take the decision on whether or not to hire me.”

Damba and another former national goalkeeper, Richard Kingson have been considered for the role, soon to be vacated by Nassamu Yakubu, with Kingson the slight favorite to land the job.
