Avram Grant insists he is not thinking about extending his contract as coach of the Black Stars.

The 60-year-old’s contract as coach of Ghana will expire in January 2017, around the same time the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon will be held.

Grant is expected to sail through qualification to feature at the Nations Cup and is indeed required to win the tournament per the two-year contract handed him by the GFA in December 2014.

But the former Chelsea boss says he is not consciously concerned about renewing his contract as he is only focused on improving the side.

“This is football you never know. My contract is up to January 2017 and we will see what will happen in the future,” he said at a press conference on Monday.

“For now I am focused on what to do and not when the contract will end.”
