Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has trumpeted his undying affection for Ghana premier league club Asante Kotoko by affirming his commitment to playing for the Kumasi-based club before he retires from professional football.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Ghana’s record goalscorer, spoke fondly of his attachment to the Porcupine Warriors and how he closely follows the progress of the team.

“Everybody knows am a Kotoko fan,” Gyan laughed and poured out with emotion for his favourite Ghanaian club, insisting he will fulfil his promise of playing for the Porcupine Warriors before he finally leaves football as a profession.

“I will fulfil my promise,” Gyan stated.

On concerns regarding the nature of local football pitches, the national team skipper brushed such fears aside, asserting that “the nature of the pitches will not be a problem for me because I don’t have joint problems.”
