Head coach of Okwahu United, Ibrahim Meriga says he will be disappointed if he does not win the coach of the season in the MTN Gala Awards.

Meriga guided the Okwahu based club to the MTN FA Cup finals but lost painful to Bechem United at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Organizers of the Tournament on Wednesday October 26 announced four coaches of who will be battling for the enviable award.

MTN FA Cup winning coach Zacharias Manuel, runners-up Ibrahim Meriga , George Lamptey and J.K Fosu of Wa Rocket will be gunning for the honor respectfully next month.

Speaking to Asempa Sports, Ibrahim Meriga said, “I deserved this honor and I stand tall among my contenders. The whole Ghana has seen the kind of work I did so there is no doubt” Meriga confidently said.

“If I do not receive this award on a faithful day, I will be highly disappointed.”

Ibrahim Mariga won the FA Cup in 1986.
