I want to meet the expectations - Harrison Afful

Ghana defender Harrison Afful believes he is ready to meet heightened expectations in his performance having excelled on his World Cup debut in the thrilling 2-2 draw with Germany.

The 27-year-old did not disappoint after being handed a starting role in the big game against the three-time winners last Saturday in Fortaleza.

Afful capped his impressive performance by providing the assist for Ghana’s equalizer through Andre Ayew after Mario Goetze put Germany up.

The Esperance full back is now aware more will be expected of him and says he is ready to meet these heightened expectations.

“Now the expectations are high, and I would want to do well to meet these expectations,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Afful was linked with a move from his Tunisian club in the lead up to the World Cup.

French side Olympique Marseille have been mentioned as a potential destination for the ex-Asante Kotoko loanee.

His performance against Germany will further enhance his CV towards making that expected big money move this summer.
