I never said Normalization Committee members are liars - Lord Zico

General Manager for Bechem United Lord Zico, has refuted widespread reports in the media of him labelling the Normalization Committee as ‘liars’ for stating that only two team clubs confirmed their participation for the Special Competition.

According to him, he never branded the Normalization Committee as liars as transcripted by the media in an interview with Sunyani based- Space FM on Tuesday.

He says ‘’I only said we Bechem United confirmed our participation through the Normalization Committee email after I instructed our TMS manager to write to them and so I was surprised when I heard that only Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC accepted to play the Special Competition so how can someone construe this and publish that I say the NC are liars’’ The ace football administrator quizzed.

‘’I may disagree with them on certain issues but to go to the extent of calling them liars has never been in my dictionary because I speak with decorum. Lord Zico told SportsworldGhana.com in a response to a question posed on him why he described the NC as liars.

‘’The Normalization Committee members are people with high integrity and I respect them so much so why would I use such harsh words on them.’’ He stressed.

The Normalization Committee in a press release on Monday night, stated that only two clubs – Kotoko and Dreams FC – confirmed their participation in the Competition hence the cancellation.
