Ghana international striker Razak Pimpong has stated he is now focusing more on life after football as his retirement nears.

According to the striker, who plies his trade with Danish side Viborg, “thinking and planning as well as having some projects in mind to do after your playing career is the best.”

“Currently, I am thinking about life after football as I will certainly retire one day, in some years to come,” Pimpong told Goal Ghana.

“In Africa when you retire from football people easily forget about you so you have to get something essential doing.”

Pimpong added: “I have not quit the national team, everyone has ambition to play for the Black Stars, but I can say that the guys in the team now are doing so well and can qualify Ghana for our third World Cup.”

“I am so happy for them and I always follow the games, all the players should be supportive.”

The 30-year-old striker was part of the Ghana squad which played at the country’s maiden senior World Cup in Germany 2006 and has also played for clubs including Midtjyland, FC Copenhagen, Al Masry, Viking and Aalesund.
