Former deputy Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu has played down reports of his return to Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors reported to be looking to show coach Charles Akonnor the exit following their failure to reach the quarterfinals stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The reports continued that management of the club have reached out to Maxwell Konadu to take over the team’s rein.

However, according to a source close to the gaffer, Konadu has not interest in returning to the club.

The 46-year-old trainer led the Kumasi-based outfit to clinch their 22nd Ghana Premier League title in 2012.

He served as a deputy to Avram Grant and Kwesi Appiah before his sacking last week.

Konadu guided the local-based Black Stars to win the 2017 WAFU Cup after beating rivals Nigeria 4-1 in the final.
