New Hearts of Oak midfielder, Malik Akowuah, insists that he does not owe Aduana Stars and ridiculed calls for his arrest.
Aduana Stars claim they had paid monies to the player with hope of securing his services after the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League, so they felt betrayed when he penned a deal with Hearts.
According to Akowuah, Aduana showed interest in him during the first round of the GPL, when he had a contract with Medeama SC, admitting that they gave him some
money for his accommodation and transportation.
He said: “I heard rumours calling for my arrest but I am clean. Yes, it is true Aduana where interested in acquiring my services around the first round of the 2015/16 GPL, so any time I’m in Dormaa, I received some money which I considered as transportation and accommodation, so I don’t know why people are accusing me for doing wrong.”
Akowuah is expected to feature for Hearts when they take on Aduana Stars in the final of the Ghalca G6 tournament to be played on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
