I’m not Jesus Christ to transform the club overnight - Karela boss Evans Adotey

Karela United Head Coach Evans Adotey says he has not come to perform miracles at the club like Jesus did in the Bible and stresses that it will take the effort of the collective to help pull the club out of their slump.

The Aiyinase based outfit endured a disappointing spell in the suspended 2019-20 Ghana premier league season. Karela United after 15 matches had registered just 2 wins with 8 defeats and were dumped in the relegation zone with a paltry 11 points.

Their poor form led management to dismiss Coach Enos Adepa and appoint former Medeama SC Coach Evans Adotey with Mallam Yahaya as his assistant.

Amid the high expectations from the fans and followers of the club, Coach Adotey has revealed that the task at hand requires every member of the team to play a key role.

He says he has initiated a process to enquire from players, supporters and management about what caused their slump during the season and will also personally take up the initiative of studying the club’s training facilities and advise accordingly.

The Black Maidens head coach however stresses that; this won’t be a task that he accomplishes overnight, alone.

He said “I am not coming as Coach to transform the club overnight, I am not Jesus Christ. I say so because we have club administrators, management, supporters, players, and technical staff. Mostly supporters focus on the coaching side”.

“We need all hands on deck so we can think the way forward for Karela. It’s not just about the coach or the players or the striker or goalkeeper; it is about the entire team”, he stressed.
