Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars striker, Malik Jabir has expressed his frustrations with Ghana Football in a lengthy interview with Angel FM.

The former National U-23 Coach revealed that he’s yet to receive his salary for a role he played as the Black Stars Assistant Coach in the 1980’s when he assisted then Head Coach, C.K Gyamfi, saying he is fed up.

“Should I tell you my story, you people won’t believe.” He said

“I was the first local player who was attached to Ben Coffie and C.K Gyamfi when I was going on retirement.” he recounted

“During that time, Paha was then the captain of the National Team, I was then the assistant Coach to C.K Gyamfi who took them to Congo in the ’80s and I have never been paid a pesewa till today.”
The 74-year old narrated his ordeal with the Black Meteors when he asked for training camp outside the country but his request wasn’t Considered and only ended up been bundled out of the u-23 tournament held in Congo in 2014.

“For instance, when I was the head coach for the U-23’s [Black Meteors] in 2014, I was the only coach who didn’t go for any outside camping before the team went to Congo.”

” I even asked the FA to take me to either Togo or Burkina to prepare but [they always kept giving the assurance] but that never came on.”

“Now when it was almost time for us to leave, I asked them again that they should let me play Obuasi Goldfields and Bechem United to see my team but they told me that the tyres of the Bus weren’t good. So from Prampram, we flew straight to Congo.”

” Moreover, i even went to Tema Stadium to train on the turf because a letter had come that we’ll be playing our first game against Senegal on an Astroturf. But we were driven away because apparently, some kids were going to use the turf, so we couldn’t train.”

“We played Senegal and in the first twenty minutes, my boys couldn’t pass nor lob the ball because the turf was new to them. But we managed to earn a draw with them. However, Senegal beat all the teams but because I didn’t bring the Cup, they said Malik didn’t do his work well but what about those who didn’t administer for me to do well?.” he ended.
