Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has disclosed that he wouldn’t mind ending his career with local giants Asante Kotoko, going ahead to reveal that some national teammates share the same dream.

The Ghana international says he could play for the Porcupine Warriors before finally calling time on his career.

Born in Accra, the former Liberty Professionals man started out with colt’s football during his early days in the Ashanti regional capital of Kumasi, the same town that plays home to the Porcupine Warriors.

“I don’t follow the local league a lot,” Asamoah told Metro TV, “but I do once in a while via the internet.

“I support Asante Kotoko because I’m Asante. I’ve been a Kotoko fan since I was born. My parents and everyone are Kotoko fans so it runs in the family.

“I haven’t actually thought about playing for the club before I retire but I know some friends currently playing in Europe would like to play there after their career abroad. I’m talking about some of my colleagues in the Black Stars.

“I can’t mention their names but Asamoah Gyan is one. I wouldn’t mind playing too. Maybe, after my career abroad and I want to have a feel of the local league again before finally bringing my career to an end.”

Asamoah played for Liberty between 2006 and 2007 before heading for Italian side Udinese from where he joined Juventus in 2012.
