I’ll do my best to win league for Kotoko – Bancey

Newly signed Kotoko forward Seidu Bancey has said he will play his part to ensure Kotoko emerge winners of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League (GPL), but admitted it will not be easy.

“My personal goal or target will be that I will play my part because it is team work and I will try to do my best to win the league for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, but it is not going to be easy. We are working as a team and everybody will play his part, so, I will [do] my best to play my part well to score so that the team can come up,” he told Class Sports’ Hussein Hassan Tuesday June 7.

Bancey, who is making a return to the club, said he had been received well by the fans.

“The first time though, the supporters didn’t know much about me; I was so happy to come to Kotoko. The second time, too, they are very happy because they know what I can do. So, when I came back, they received me very well so, it’s good for me,” he noted.

The former Ebusua Dwarfs forward said pairing up with Dauda Mohammed upfront will be a ‘great combination’ but he is ready to partner any other striker.

“We have a lot of strikers. … As a player, you cannot say that when you are playing with this one, you feel happy and if you are not playing with this one you are not happy. Then, it is like you are not mature so, as a player, you have to cope with every striker and partner them so that things will go on [well] with you,” the attacker explained.

Bancey, 26, has signed a two-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

The attacker is making a return to the club after helping Kotoko win the GPL two seasons ago.
