I’ll devote more time to Nania FC – Abedi

The owner of Nania FC Abedi Ayew Pele has admitted the Division One side is suffering setbacks as a result of his long absence from the day-to-day running of the team.

Nania FC have been instrumental in producing young promising talents in the country.

Speaking to Starr Sports, the Maestro said “every team at a point in time goes through some turbulence and Nania is of no club exception.”

“I haven’t committed enough time to the everyday management of the second tier side and that is taking a toll on its performance in the Division One League,” the former captain of the Black Stars remarked.

Abedi added “we now have to concentrate on scouting for young able players and building a stronger side that will make us trophy challengers again.”

The club, since its formation in 1998 has produced some popular players in the likes of current Black Stars goalkeeper Razak Brimah, Ahmed Barusso and Rahim Ayew.

Nania shot into fame when they won the MTN FA Cup as their first major trophy when they went beyond all the odds to beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2011.
