I like playing with Waris, says Gyan

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has hailed Spartak Moscow striker Abdul Majeed Waris, describing him as a player who makes things possible for him.

The two forwards gelled very well up-front against Egypt in the first-leg play-off for the 2014 World Cup and that partnership resulted in a 6-1 hammering of the Pharaohs in Kumasi.

“Playing with Waris is good for me. He understands me and I also understand his play,” Gyan told Goal Ghana. “He is a very talented young player who always listens to what I tell him and he does just that.”

Gyan added: “Before every game I call him and tells him what he should do for me and he does just that.

“We have played together for months but everyone can see that the understanding is there, he has a bright future ahead of him.”

Both players have been complementing each other in goal scoring since coach Kwesi Appiah decided to pair them.
