Head coach of the national female under-17 team, Baba Nuhu insists that he is not under any pressure to win the second leg of the U-17 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow.

According to Nuhu, he is aware of the task assigned to him and the kind of responsibilities and pressure that comes with it but he will not succumb to those pressures that will come from Ghanaians or the media as he prepares to face the Liberians tomorrow.

Addressing the media today ahead of tomorrow’s clash, he said that the idea of running the Maiden’s team is not solely to win trophies but to generate quality players for the Black Queens in the future.

“Me as a person, I have never been under pressure because I always try to do my best on anything that I want to do. But if my best is not good enough to meet the expectations of people then there is little that I can do about that.”

“I know I have been given the job and I have to do my best and I know this is the place that we need to do our best to develop the players for the future task ahead, so to me, It is not always about winning trophies but to get quality players who will one day graduate to play for the Black Queens”

“Nevertheless, we will make sure that we put broad smiles on the faces of Ghanaians as the country is widely known for its winning mentality. “he added.

The Black Maidens are entering into the game with a 2-0 advantage after winning the first leg at Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia on Sunday.
