Vice chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson says he failed to fulfil his words when he was contesting for the position four years ago.

Mr Koomson won the position of the vice chairman of the Association in the last elections, but has chosen to go for the topmost job of chairman in this year’s elections.

The Aduana Stars Accra representative, who has had stints with Great Olympics and Gamba All Black in his 20 years in football administration, has promised to change the fortunes of body when he is voted into office.

“Every association goes through some challenges and I know the challenges of GHALCA. Our main challenge has been financial and I know what to do to turn that situation around,” he told sportscrusader.com.

“So I know our situation better, and like our President said ‘if you’re not on the seat, it is difficult to sometimes advise because you don’t know because you don’t know what it is like occupying the seat.

“When I was contesting for the vice chairmanship position in the last elections, i told the clubs the same targets as I have for this year, but in my four years, I was unable to do that.

“Seeing it afar is different being on the seat yourself. Because you’re leading, you’ll always champion that whatever we’re doing gets to our members and if our leadership is not interested, you get back to zero, so it is always easier to say than to put it in practice,” he noted.

The GHALCA elections will be held later this month.
