The president of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has stated he is unaware that winning bonuses for players of the Senior National Team have been slashed by 20 percent.

Reports in March indicated that players of the Black Stars, have accepted a 20% reduction in winning bonuses.

Each player is expected be paid US$ 8,000 dollars having previously been paid US$ 10,000 for every victory.

According to reports, the agreement was reached after a meeting between the players and new Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye.

But speaking on Morning Starr Tuesday, Mr. Nyantakyi stated that he was not consulted in the decision to slash the winning bonuses and only heard about it in the media.

“I haven’t been invited to any meeting...on the bonus of the black stars, I have not been written to…and I don’t know currently what the bonus structure of the [Black Stars] is like and I don’t take my information from the media,” Nyantakyi told Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg.

Mr. Nyantakyi also implored the Sports Minister to stop the unnecessary criticisms of the Football administration and offer solutions to make the country’s league better.

According to him, the minister’s public utterances has created a frosty relationship between his ministry and the FA.

“I expect the minister to support our league instead of criticizing it like a 'serial caller. I've heard the minister say the league isn't attractive but what are his suggestions...I think he should stop polluting Ghanaians with untruths.”
