Nzema Kotoko Head coach Mallam Yahaya confidently claims that he can easily win the CAF Champions League with either Kotoko or Hearts if he is given the job.
The coveted trophy which has eluded the Porcupine Warriors for close to four decades was last won by the Phobians 16 years ago and the former King Faisal gaffer insists he can easily win it for the two giants.
According to him, the two great teams in the country have great potential of winning the trophy but have not gotten the needed technical men to push them that far.
In an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Mallam Yahaya pleaded with the Ghanaian football public not to see his claim as arrogance, rather confidence.
“I can easily win the CAF Champions League trophy with either Hearts of Kotoko,” he said.
“These are the two greatest teams in the country with the greatest following and that is the tool. The fans always want to be happy and I will make them happy if I am managing either of the teams.
“If the fans are happy, they will surely push me to also achieve whatever they want for them,” he added.
“I am not being arrogant but I am very confident that I can do it. I trust myself and I know I can easily win it,” he noted.
Mallam Yahaya guided King Fasial to escape relegation twice in the Ghana Premier League and his departure to Germany to continue his coaching course saw the Nokia Boys relegated to the Division One League.
He is currently the head coach of Nzema Kotoko, a team he took when they were last in Zone Two of the Division One League and has pushed them to 6th.
