Berekum Chelsea FC defender Ahmed Adams says calls for players in the Ghana Premier League to reduce their salaries amid the Coronavirus outbreak is a good idea but will be a burden that the players can’t carry.

According to the former Asante Kotoko player, prices of goods, including gari at the various markets have shot up in these trying time so why should someone propose a reduction on their meagre salaries.

Expressing his opinion on the fast-growing proposal, Adams told Nhyira FM, “The pay cut is a good idea in some way but the players will be affected a lot since we also have families to take care of. At this moment the price of gari has even increased.

“How much are even our salaries? None of the clubs in Ghana even pay more than €1000” he concluded.

Ahmed Adams joined Berekum Chelsea before the start of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League after staying home for more than a year without a club.
