Homowo Cup Preview: Hearts of Oak clash with Great Olympics today

Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak aim to confirm their dominance over city rivals Great Olympics when the two capital clubs go head-to-head as they battle for this year's Ga Homowo challenge Cup trophy on Sunday at 3:00 pm.

The game is set to come off at the Accra Sports Stadium and, is expected to be graced by the chiefs and elders of the Ga Traditional Council as they climax the 2019 Homowo festival celebrations.

The rivalry between the two clubs dates back decades with the Phobians holding the majority of the wins over city neighbours who now ply their trade in the second tier of Ghana football.

Coach Kim Grant has prepared his charges very well for this encounter and can confirm that they are poised for the action as they go in search of a first trophy in our new Umbro shirt.

Expectations of fans will be very high on Sunday as the Phobians play in front of their home fans and they will demand much from the boys as they come up against a Great Olympics side that has been very noisy in the build-up to this game.

Hearts have dominated encounters between the two sides in recent times and, in the season that the Wonder Club were last relegated from the topflight, the Rainbows claimed back-to-back victories over them in the league.

Going into this Sunday's Cup game, the momentum is high for both sides and the boys are expected rise to the occasion and make the day a memorable one for both teams.

Olympics have been talking big ahead of this one-off game. They claim to be the owners of the capital and will be out to make that certain.

However, they will have to put up a performance of great magnitude if they are able to make good on that claim and, take the bragging rights after Sunday as Hearts will not go down without a fight.

Rates for the game is GHc 5:00, GHc 10:00, GHc 20:00, GHc 30:00 and GHc 50:00. The game kicks off at 3:00pm.
