Holders Medeama crash out of FA Cup

Medeama’s reign as Ghana FA Cup holders ended on Wednesday after they were edged 2-1 by newly promoted Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord.

Godbless Asamoah put the Cup holders in the lead after 27 minutes as the Mauves held to their slim lead to end the first half 1-nil up.

The second half saw Feyenoord push for the equaliser and succeeded in drawing level through Abubakar Ibrahim in the 57th minute.

And with seven minutes remaining on the clock, Feyenoord struck the major blow when Samuel Tetteh scored the winner to send them through to the last-four.

Feyenoord will face Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the first semi-final match.
