Hockey Gala to herald Africa Hockey Club Championships

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - The Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) will on Saturday, organise a special gala at the National Hockey Pitch, Accra, to prepare the grounds for the 23rd Edition of the Africa Hockey Club Championship, to be hosted by Ghana.

The gala will see senior teams of NDK Financiers, Citizens, Veterans and Multistix competing for honours in the day's event. Also competing in the gala are the Indian Community and foreign missions of Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt.

The event will be rounded up on the same day with a sponsor's gala night as a form of appreciation to the sponsors. The 23rd edition of the championship will attract teams like Sharkia and Police from Egypt, Strathmore University of Kenya, Niger Flickers and Yobi Desert from Nigeria, Trustees and Golden Sticks from Ghana battling for supremacy.

The rest are Extinguishers and Reformers (Ghana), Heartland, Yobi Queens (Nigeria), defending champions Telecom (Kenya) and Sharkia seeking for honours in the female category.
