Ho Kpodzi-Dela Cathedral wins YFC Inter-church Easter games

The Ho Kpodzi-Dela Cathedral, at the weekend, emerged the overall winners of this year’s Youth For Christ (YFC) Inter-Church Easter Games held in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

They beat Living Spring Ministries 4-3 in a penalty shootout to lift the trophy in the male soccer competition.

Their ladies counterparts also beat Redeem Evangelical Church 5-3 also in a penalty shootout to lift the trophy in that category.

In the Volleyball competition, the Redeem Evangelical Church team ensured they won the ultimate prize by thrashing Ho-Kpodzi Cathedral in the finals.

The games, played at the Ho Sports Stadium were to foster unity among the youths of the various Churches and to discover and promote talents and foster unity among church members and as well as entertain the public during the Easter festivities.

This year’s event is the fifth edition and attracted over 1,000 young people including Pastors and church elders in the Ho township.

Mr Patrick Mahama, YFC National Director, in a speech read on his behalf, urged the youth to lead responsible and godly lifestyles.

He also advised them to guide against being used to foment trouble during the up-coming December general elections.**
