A brace from Steven Mukwala in each half secured an emphatic 2-0 victory for Kumasi Asante Kotoko over Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Asante Kotoko completed a league double over their arch-rivals with a 2-0 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium, having won the first league match 3-2.

The Ugandan striker, Steven Mukwala, gave Kotoko the lead eight minutes into the game with a cool finish after fending off a challenge from Hearts of Oak defender, Thomas Winimi.

Kotoko, who dominated the game, scored their second in the 95th minute when Mukwala unleashed a beautiful curler that defeated the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Kwesi Nketiah.

With this win, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have moved to ninth place in the league and are on course to secure safety from relegation.

Accra Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, are now in 14th place in the league, with the Phobians just two points away from the relegation zone.

With only three games left to play, Hearts of Oak will need to improve their performance and secure victories to avoid relegation.
