Ghana’s Black Stars World Cup fundraising campaign has received a significant financial boost, with over $12 million pledged in cash donations following its official launch on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The high-profile event, attended by President John Dramani Mahama, Sports Minister Kofi Adams, and Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, brought together key stakeholders from the business, entertainment, and private sectors.

Leading the list of donors is Engineers & Planners with a contribution of $5 million.

Goldfields Ghana followed with $2 million and an additional $1 million pledged towards Black Stars activities next year.

Christian Salamony Game Technology also committed $2 million, while Jewel Energy and an anonymous donor contributed $1 million each.

In the entertainment sector, Shatta Wale donated $100,000, while Stonebwoy contributed $81,000 and will further support the campaign with a $20,000 music production package.

Other notable contributions include $300,000 from Alhaji Musah’s Timeline and Innovation Company, as well as $15,000 from P & A African Food International and Degree Auto Mechanic.

In addition to the dollar pledges, local companies made significant contributions in Ghana cedis.

KGL donated GHC10 million, while Seriene Insurance contributed GH¢2 million and provided an insurance package valued at GH¢20 million for the Black Stars.

Further support came from Icon Energy (GH¢ 1 million), Abosokai Spare Parts Dealer (GH¢500,000), Erata Motors (GH¢200,000), Nana Adjoo Baah (GH¢150,000), and Pay Angel (GH¢100,000).

In total, the campaign has raised $12.096 million alongside GH¢13.95 million, in addition to the insurance package and media support.
