Henaku wins Helton Farewell golf

Emmanuel Henaku scored 43 points to win the Ron Helton Farewell golf competition at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday.

P.K. Amenyo came second with 42 points, while Bruce Lee was third with 41 points with Yaw Opoku-Duffour placing fourth with 38 points.

Grace Komladzei won the Ladies event with 38 points, beating Valentine Manteaw on count-back, while Beatrice Bempong came third with 35 points.

The competition, that was organised by Tema Country Golf Club in honour of Mr Ron Helton, outgoing Managing Director of Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO), attracted golfers from Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim golf clubs.

Mr Johnny Cobbina, Captain of Tema Country Golf Club praised Mr Helton for his immense contribution to the Club in particular and to the development of the sport in general.

"Mr Helton and VALCO's contribution to the Club would forever be remembered.", he said.

Mr Helton, who stayed in Ghana for almost 10 years, leaves for the U.S.

The incoming Managing Director of VALCO, Mr Dave Thomas said though Mr Helton would leave the country, he and his company would continue with his good work.
