Hearts were better than us - Chelsea coach

Technical Director of Berekum Chelsea Hans Vander Pluim insists Hearts of Oak will beat any opposition with the way they played on Sunday.

The Phobians thoroughly dominated the game at the Accra Sports Stadium and in the end had three goals to show for it.

A brace by Gilbert Fiamenyo was well complemented by his strike-partner Mahatma Otoo to continue with Hearts’ resurgence in the second half of the season. Hearts’ win, however, hurt Chelsea’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League.

The visitors suffered to create any meaningful goal scoring opportunity throughout the match.

Pluim says it was as a result of how good Hearts were and that any opposition would fall to the same conditions.

He added: “They (Hearts) are very enthusiastic and they have the right spirit today to beat any opponent and it is very unfortunate that we were today that opponent,” he said at the post-match press conference.

“I think we have learnt our lesson today – that from the first minute every player has to be focused and more aggressive in the way of playing.”
