Hearts to introduce monthly player awards

Accra Hearts of Oak have revealed their intention to introduce the player of the month award, the Club has confirmed.

The Capital-based Club from next season will reward outstanding players at the end of every month.

This was disclosed by the Board Chairman and bankroller Togbe Afede during the annual general meeting at the International Conference center in Accra on Wednesday.

The initiative is aimed at motivating players to give out their best in the coming season.

The team’s perennial rivals Asante Kotoko took the initiative to motivate their players by rewarding excelling ones at the end of every month during the 2014/15 First Capital plus Premier League season.

Hearts are eager to regain their lost glory by putting in place new measures to help the Club attain better heights in the new season.

The Rainbow Club narrowly escaped relegation after finishing in a disappointing 13th position in the League last season.
