Hearts of Oak board chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, has paid all outstanding salaries and bonuses owed the club’s playing body ahead of their crucial encounter with Kotoko on May 2.

The board chairman came to the rescue of the team on Friday after some concerns had been raised by the Japanese trainer some weeks ago through social media.

The players were owed two months alongside the backroom staff but on Friday a cheque of GHC120, 000 was released to settle the outstanding amount.

“This payment was the enticement that propelled the team to pick all three maximum points in Obuasi by beating them (Ashgold) by 2-1.

"Meanwhile, the board chairman has also promised a special package if they beat Kotoko”, an official told Starr Sports.

Hearts face Kotoko on Monday in the 10th week of the ongoing league at the Accra Sports stadium.
