Hearts of Oak fires Addo

Ghanaian Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have asked corporate affairs head Joe Addo to step aside from his role as the club fails to attract any big signing in the transfer market.

The Phobians have failed to secure any tangible outside sponsorship since the appointment of the former Ghana captain and is yet to attract any big name player since the opening of the transfer window.

Although the two functions are not directly under Addo’s jurisdictions he has been accused of failing to achieve any of his targets since being appointment.

According to reports a section of the club’s board have kicked against sacking the former player but want to re-assign him to the club’s junior ranks as one of the coach.

Addo will be compelled to accept a role from Auroras (Hearts’s junior side) or axed from the club’s management.

Hearts have been without a recognisable outside sponsor for the past three seasons and are relying on the sponsorship deal offered by club owner Togbe Afede.
