A Ghanaian referee has courted sensational anger from Hearts of Oak fans in the Ghana Premier League he turned a blind eye to a Rambo-style karate tackle by an opposition defender inside the box.
Referee Prince Amoah was right standing at the spot and watching on as an Aduana Stars defender applied a martial arts tackle to uproot and slam down winger Thomas Abbey who aiming to score for the Phobians who were piling pressure on their guest at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The thrilling tie ended 3-3 as Hearts fans were left embittered with the performance of the referee.
The performance of referees have come under tight scrutiny in Ghana following below par performance by most officials refereeing in Ghanaian leagues.
