Hearts downed in opening day defeat

Champions, Hearts of Oak suffer an opening day defeat in Glo Premier League on Sunday.

The title defence of the Phobians was dealt the blow at the Kpando Park where Heart of Lions strolled to a 2-0 win over Egyptian coach, Ayman El Yamani's side.

Kessben FC earned the bragging rights from the derby clash against King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium.

With the game tied at 1-1, Kessben nicked a late goal to win the clash.

AshantiGold, who avoided relegation last season have started off on a winning note after picking all three points at the Len Clay Stadium against Chelsea.

The Miners were 1-0 winners. Eleven Wise scored a second half goal to draw 1-1 with Wa All Stars.

Real Tamale United and Hasacaas shared the spoils in a goalless drawn game.

Newly promoted, Aduana Stars picked a point from their away game at the Golden City Park where they drew 1-1 with Berekum Arsenals.

The Great Olympics-Asante Kotoko in Accra is a late kick-off game.

The game between New Edubiase and Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park comes off on Wednesday.
