Hearts beat Metro Stars in pre-season friendly

Hearts of Oak swept aside Division One side Metro Stars 5-1 in their second preseason friendly at the ATTC Park in Accra on Thursday morning.

Strikers Maxwell Boakye and Winful Cobbinah shot Hearts into the lead in a space of six minutes, with the latter scoring a delicious free-kick in the 21st minute of action.

The Phobians resumed the scoring in the second half after a whole sale change from coach Herbert Addo.

Substitutes Gerald Odupong and Emmanuel Laryea scored the third and fourth goals for Hearts, but the visitors pulled a goal back after a defensive mishap.

Former Okwahu striker Ezekiel Tetteh rounded the scoring with a close finish to seal the Hearts win.

Hearts will face stiffer opposition next week during the Top 4 tournament where they are scheduled to meet their eternal rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the opening game on the 24 August, 2014.
