Hearts Of Oak augment squad with 13 new players

Accra Hearts Of Oak have augmented their squad ahead of the 2017/18 league season by registering 13 new players.

They include two goalkeepers, four defenders, three midfielders and Four attackers, out of which eleven were unveiled on Wednesday.

Two of the signings,Osman Sackey and Prince Nana Kwasi Darmang, could not make it to the Accra World Trade Centre for the unveiling ceremony.

Three of the new signings are foreign nationals, who have fitted into the squad.

Officials of the club could not give reasons for their absence but indicated all the 13 new players have been duly registered for the 2017/18 league.

Checks by ghanaguardian.com have indicated the other two players would be unveiled in a later date.

Addressing the media, Mr Mark Noonan highlighting his plans for the Phobians, who are still searching for their first league trophy in 9 years.

We have a lot of problems in Ghana soccer which has been identified and I wouldn't come if I didn't believe I could be part of the solutions," he said.

"Am here not just to put Hearts Of Oak in a better place but hopefully contribute in some small way to the betterment of soccer in Ghana.



Four Key players left the Phobians at the end of the 2016/17 on a free transfer, with striker Kwame Zito and Thomas.

The registering of the 13 new players means the Phobians will begin the 2017/18 season with 28 players.

Acting oach Henry Wellington, had already indicated the Phobians will not register more than 30 players for the season's campaign
